I consider myself a pretty laid back and conservative when it comes to fashion. My wardrobe consists of quality, timeless pieces that I've had in years. Last fall, I fall prey to all the hype and glitz of the fashion world attended the semi-Lviv Fashion Week.
Founded in 2008, Lviv Fashion Week will delight followers of fashion catwalk shows for designers from Ukraine, Russia, Polish, French, etc. .. The atmosphere was electric camera flashes from the fashion gurus and media dog dressed in the nines, "Lemberg" Convention Center.
This was far from my childhood memories of Lviv spent in poverty, where they rejoiced when the parcel arrived practical clothing from our relatives in the American diaspora. I also images ingrained in my mind the Soviet era in which the basics of life in deficit, not to mention items of "haute couture." Totalitarian government during the repressed any show of personal identity and originality. Just as "comrades" were certainly not encouraged to frivolities such as freedom of expression, let alone fashion trends.
Tourists come with a suitcase full of banned blue jeans that were strictly black market trade predmeta.Nekoliko available sold strictly utilitarian wear in repeated 60-stilova.Duge hairstyles are very quick to be shaved on the streets of KGB officers.
the collapse of communism was met with extremist reactions in the world mode.Novi of liberation expressed the ministry of micro, super hiked heels, big glitzy jewelry and excessive make up. This counter reaction was immediately interpreted as a woman seeking foreigners and happiness did not last long. Lviv matured very quickly, and soon accepted by mainstream fashion and sneakers, blue jeans shirts it.
in this day and age, fashion is a very serious industry in Lviv and put local designers on the international level of respect. Graduates of fashion design from the Lviv Academy of Arts have left their mark world market. Some of the stars include Oksana Mukha, whose wedding was "par excellence" the storm in Paris and adorned as of as "Carousel du Louvre ".
Of particular interest is Roksolana Bogutska. I really appreciate the way she has incorporated authentic samples and fused elements of folk music in its contemporary collections.
Bagutska's flagship boutique is located in the prestigious "Opera Passage" at # 27 Svoboda Ave. in Lviv.
This state-of-the-art retail center rivals Neiman-Marcus Texas hands down! It was leaking for luxury with its' marble floors, staircases, wrought iron and antique fixtures. This upscale department store offers up-to-the-minute trends in handmade cosmetics from England, Prada sunglasses and handbags, and even Brioni garments for men.
So who is it who can afford high price tags attached to these upscale offer? Not anyone in my inner circle of friends. What I find here is mostly "fashionistas" landed in the blacked-SUV fashion vozila.Å tednje grace of ordinary people struggling to make ends meet is a "planet". "Planet" is a series of second-hand stores that sell (per kilogram) quality clothing that came from Europe with a modern and smart labels such as "Marks & Spencer" and "George" brand name.
I'm proud of you, Lviv-have come a long way! I would agree with recent statements by Japanese designers at Fashion-Lviv Kenzo Takada. He was quoted saying, "Women in Lviv better trained women in Paris." Quite a statement of strength, a powerful testimony to the fact that Lviv has become the world's pioneering heart-Bravo!
