Mad Men - Pure 60's Style



As I sit here in the television season and the feeling of longing for my favorite show, Mad Men, May I just have to refine my family and friends and keep the plot rolling along in his invented world. If you've never seen Mad Men, you're crazy! This Golden Globe and Emmy-winning television drama that airs on the AMC channel is part of a large forehead, drama, part social commentary, a part of pernicious kitschy fun. Set the TiVo for a season four in 2010, if you're not afraid to dive into the issues of smoking, drinking, sexism, adultery, homophobia, antisemitism and racism that exist in 1960.

One thing you'll notice immediately when watching Mad Men is the historical authenticity and visual style of the 60s costumes, sets and locations. Stylists spend grueling time for re-recording of the time passed, shopping thrift stores, hunting through antique markets, borrowing by private collections and the creation of replicas of clothing, furniture and equipment. With a little ingenuity, an attack by a grandparent in a closet and some good costume props, you can create a Mad Men costume of their choice.

Imagine ultra-cool you exude when you walk into the room as Don Draper, one of the partners of a fictional NYC ad agency. You only need a dark suit and thin black tie and pull the classic silhouette of this dashing the central character. Add some pomade in your hair and be sure to wear a silver lighter and glass half-full of scotch.

Ladies will feel Grace Kelly dress up as his amazing, but ice-cold wife Betty Draper. Pay homage to his former days as a model to dress in retro evening gowns and elbow-length gloves (for client dinner, of course) or go to a sports Mad Men costume, equestrian outfit. Don a wig, if not, of course, her coiffed blond hair.

Other Mad Men costumes for women include Peggy, a secretary turned copywriter with its own office (gasp!) who is known for her short bangs brunette and a tail. To remove her Mad Men suit, plaid dress will give you a nice, conservative style she prefers. For more VA-VA-VA-voom ladies dressing up as a manager, Joan Holloway, will help you make a memorable entrance. Just wear a red wig and make sure your curvy figure is highlighted in all the right places!

Men can dress up as an agency of big wigs and silver fox, Roger Sterling, motivated, up-and-comer Pete Campbell, Paul Kinsey creative type, or a few other guys in uredu.Jedan common denominator is all pretty much wear the same costume 60 s in slight variations in color. Add Horn RIM-glasses, bow ties, vests, briefcases and other accessories that give your Mad Men costume extra flair.
