What's Hot Across The Pond: European Fashion Designers



It seems like Europe is always one step ahead of the United States when it comes to fashion design. Whether you know it yet or not, which is heated on the runways of Paris and Milan fashion weeks is probably not over the runways at the U.S. just yet, but when they do, Europe will probably be more cutting-edge trends until then. So what is it that keeps European fashion market is one step ahead of the U.S. market? Among other things, the fashion school students believe that this innovative European designers who keep their eyes wide open and their collections fresh and innovative. For those of you in the speculations of this phenomenon, here is a list of European designers who have put the 2011 runway shows that fascinated young fashion lovers, photographers, editors and seasoned fashion veterans alike!

daughter of Beatle, Paul McCartney, a British born Stella McCartney is a successful designer of the nineteen nineties. Although some speculate that the industry got an advantage because of their ultra-famous father, McCartney has proven himself time and time again that they have enormous creative vision and talent. After she graduated from fashion college in England, she was soon appointed chief designer at Paris fashion house Chloe. Since then, her designs are almost unanimously commercially successful. Her latest collection for Fall 2011 game with a lot more comfortable gender ambiguity. McCartney has created a loose, but tailored women clothing, including coats and jackets collar with a playful sensibility.

British shoe designer Nicholas Kirkwood has raved about after February Autumn / Winter 2011 Fashion Week presentation. Relatively new as an exclusive fashion industry, designer of practically redefines what is considered to be in-shoe design, with its alienous, decorative collection. Kirkwood shoes are usually unimaginably high, and they are often sprouting fur, feathers and beads. Often, they are wild patterns, layered and varied fabrics and materials, and always artful and unexpected angles. Kirkwood is the autumn and winter fashion shoes are really enjoyable.

Italian and Japanese heritage, Nicola Formichetti is the creative director for French fashion house Thierry Mugler, a chief designer for pop sensation Lady GaGa. Originally a student of architecture, Formichetti dropped out of school and became heavily involved in the London club scene and immersed in the world European street fashion. Finally, he got a job in a modern boutique called Pineal eye quickly work your way up to the artistic director and chief buyer. His talent was soon recognized by fashion editors, which led to work in several high fashion publications, and finally to its position in Mugler. Formichetti designs often are futuristic and hyper-sexual, evocative of the club scene was once so heavily immersed in.
